The Founder's Playbook for Building Authority on LinkedIn
Most founders treat LinkedIn like a resume. The ones who win treat it like a distribution channel. Over the last three years we've helped 80+ founders, CXOs, and investors go from silent lurkers to inbound-only operators, and the pattern is boringly repeatable. It isn't about virality. It's about clarity, consistency, and content pillars that map directly to the deals you want to close.
The first move is positioning. Before we write a single post, we lock down three things: who you sell to, what specific transformation you deliver, and what point of view only you can defend. If your headline could belong to any of 400 other founders in your category, no amount of posting fixes that. We rewrite the profile — headline, banner, About section, featured — so a stranger understands in seven seconds why you're worth following.
Then come the content pillars. We run every client on exactly four: (1) contrarian point of view on your industry, (2) behind-the-scenes of how you actually operate, (3) client outcomes and case studies stripped of jargon, and (4) personal story tied to a business lesson. Four pillars, three posts a week, twelve months. That's it. No trend-chasing, no dance videos, no thought-leadership word salad.
Hooks are where 90% of founders lose. The first two lines decide whether anyone reads line three. We test hooks against a simple filter: does it promise a specific, non-obvious outcome, and does it create a small open loop? 'I raised $4M last month. Here's the one slide investors actually cared about' beats 'Excited to share our fundraise!' every single time.
Cadence matters more than volume. Three high-signal posts a week beat daily noise. Ship Monday, Wednesday, Friday between 8-10am in your buyer's timezone. Reply to every comment for the first 90 minutes. Engage with 10 target accounts before you post. That's the loop. Run it for 90 days and inbound stops being a hope and becomes a channel you can forecast.
